We are lucky to have a very talented aide with Mrs. Kerr and her ideas have again made our library an exciting place! I had asked her about having a tree in our story corner. Take a look at the pictures (it really doesn't do it justice though!) and see what she did with insulating foam, yes, insulating foam. It is really quite awesome. If you see Mrs. Kerr, thank her and tell her what you think of it!

![]() I just read a blog about the newest animal at the Perth Zoo called an echidna. I had never heard of such an animal so it was interesting to me. Maybe it will be to you too. They have a nickname of "puggles" - how cute is that? Click here to read the whole story. (UPDATED: Here's the recent picture of the echidna, look at how it's changed! And it was spotlighted on the Today's Show - they said it is one of the only 2 mammals that lay eggs!)

There's a new movie coming out on one of my favorite books. It's called The Invention of Hugo Cabret and the movie is just called "Hugo." Click here to see the movie trailer. Looks awesome. If you want to read the book before the movie, the call number is JF SEL. The movie comes out in theaters Thanksgiving weekend. I can't wait! What a super FUN site called "Draw a Stickman!" You are prompted to draw a stickman (or woman or scarecrow,lol) then your drawing comes to life and you interact with the story by drawing items your stickman needs. This past summer I attended a 3 day workshop that instructed me on how to set up an online course for students. I am to design 2 "Learning Experiences" or what I call E-classes. My first will be with the 2 4th grades on research to prepare them for an artifact project Mrs. Crabtree assigns in social studies. Needless to say it's a learning experience for me as well as the students. Below are some pictures of our students working on the mobile lab laptops and some netbooks borrowed from Mrs. Lepper. |
I came across this awesome informational poster and I thought I'd share. I bet you have your own image of what a librarian is! This poster blows that image away..."check it out" (lol).
