Located at Skylight Clarkson Square in New York City, the fashion industry gets together to celebrate the hottest new attire of the coming season. This celebration is known as New York Fashion Week, and it is a week long affair for every and anything fashion related. As in previous years before, the Academy of Art University put on an extraordinary showcase of talent and attire. The California-based fashion and art school has been attending this grand event for decades. This just so happens to be the school’s 21st straight appearance, and it definitely delivered on the goods as expected.
The future of fashion is the choice of topic and the Academy of Art University personifies it best. This is the place that thrusts new talent into the limelight. The school represented itself with two new menswear and five new womenswear collections. There were at least 10 recent MFA and BFA graduates from this extraordinary school in the lineup. One of its best features were the collaborations among two of the individuals. CFDA’s Director of Education Sara Kozlowski and Ms. J Alexander of “America’s Next Top Model” were present. There is a lot of work that goes into this event such as workshops, last-minute decisions, labor and scheduling. Novice and veteran designers from all over the world are invited for this annual fashion spectacle. New York Fashion Week is the place to be, and it once again lived up to its hype.
The Academy of Art University was founded by Richard Stephens in 1929. This urban campus is located in the heart of San Francisco, California. It is a privately owned for-profit school, and it is one of the largest art and design universities in this nation. The numbers included are:
